With approximately 120 members and always looking for more, the Club is a skiing group for those interested in competition, social skiing, downhill or cross country. The Club is a major sponsor of the ‘Boonoona Open’, a cross-country ski event held Annually in August, marking 2020 as its 37th year for this 5km race. In addition, The Ski Club hosts the Cheetahs Swimming Club for an annual ski race, usually held during the first weekend of September, marking 2020 as the 46th year running this event.

Since 2000, Matthew Geercke and his wife Luanne have managed Boonoona, offering a warm welcome to the lodge where they live along with their two children Archie and Frankie during the ski season. Upon arrival, you are sure to be affectionately welcomed by the caring family and you’ll soon discover no request is too much for them to ensure you have the best possible stay. They have spent over 20 seasons at the lodge so feel free to ask them for any advice on all things Perisher.
The Lodge was born out of a cooperative of 33 City Tatts Members in 1961, with this number growing to 80 when it opened in 1962. Aptly named Boonoona, which is the Aboriginal word for white ground, in 1966 a resolution was passed by the Club Committee to purchase the assets of the Boonoona Ski Club co-op and retain it as an amenity for all City Tatts Members.
A cherished Club facility, Boonoona proudly displays its vibrant past along its walls. With images of the lodge through history and its ski champions on display against the warm wooden trimmings, the accommodation is truly unique in this day and age.
